Story

"Where words are lacking to describe the indescribable, where the eyes fail to see the inevitable, where hands cannot grasp the incomprehensible, the only certainty is that you will live forever in my heart."

Not long ago (1.5 years ago) my big brother died unexpectedly at the age of 34. He left a massive hole in everyone’s heart. There have been many days when life seemed impossible to conquer. But the strong support of my family and friends has helped me to keep going, not forgetting the valuable things in life!

Then 8 weeks ago my dad suddenly passed away. Too young at the age of 58 and after having fought for all his life, the world seemed to have turned again and nothing makes sense.

Often, things happen in life that are difficult to understand and no one has an explanation for. The question "Why?" remains unanswered.

But how deep we fall doesn’t define us. It’s about how well we rise after falling that determines who we are. Sometimes life knocks us down lower than we have ever been for us to stand back up taller than we ever were.

So, now I am standing tall and will ride 100 miles at this years RideLondon event to raise money for other inspiring people that deserve to be happy.

My dad had to fight with a lifelong eye illness which resulted in him going blind in his early 30s. However, he went through life with humour and determination. By supporting SpecialEffect, a UK based charity which uses video games and technology to enhance the quality of life of people with disabilities, I’d like to help bring them joy and encourage them to follow my dads footsteps and go through life with strength and a smile on their face.

I would be grateful if you could donate as little as a pound to Special Effects as it can have a life changing impact on others and make their beautiful smile just that little bit bigger.

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my story and supporting this wonderful charity!

All my love,

Nads
