Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hello friends, I will be running this year's BMW Berlin Marathon, my third time to tackle 42 kilometres, in support of Prostate Cancer UK's cause to help fight the disease. I will be raising £500 for this race, an amount so little compared to the huge effort these guys are doing: funding research into better ways to diagnose, treat and eventually cure prostate cancer. The money we will be able to contribute should help provide vital services to support patients and their families during and after treatment, ensuring all their needs are met.
Research into prostate cancer and services for men with the disease have been badly underfunded. Meanwhile, more and more men are getting diagnosed every year and it’s predicted that prostate cancer will be the most common cancer in the UK by 2030.
With your help we’ll be able to make a real difference to the thousands of men affected by the disease each year. The money we raise will revolutionise the way we detect and treat prostate cancer. Prostate Cancer UK receives no government funding and thus relies entirely on supporters to raise funds and spread awareness.
