Story

Denis O’Gorman is a Special Olympics athlete who Can’t Stop now!

The pandemic has been difficult for Special Olympic athletes like Denis, who have struggled with loneliness as they missed their regular training and meeting up with friends.

Over the last year, Denis lost his job, lost his best friend and started to struggle with his mental and physical health. His Special Olympics coach encouraged him to start walking and supported him on his journey with virtual fitness activities and regular health advice.

Denis set himself a target to walk 100 marathons and he is now on his 137th Marathon proving he can’t stop now!

By supporting Denis' campaign page you will help, 7,351 inspirational children and adults with an intellectual disability to get back to the pool, pitch and court. They will meet their friends again. Through sport, they will learn new skills again, gain confidence and show the world what they can do again.Special Olympics Ireland cant have volunteers out on the street for the Annual Collection Day but like our athletes, we #CantStopNow. Please donate what you can and thank you for supporting this fundraiser.

About the charity
