I am a first time (and probably last time) Marathon runner. I have always wanted to take part in a Marathon as I see it as the ultimate challenge (although I know there are other events such as Triathlons, Iron man etcwhich are more strenuous).
I have been training since September 2002 for the Edinburgh Marathon and have found it to have taken over my life (my wife will second that).
Scottish Adoption is my chosen charity as my wife and I were fortunate enough to have been approved by Scottish Adoption as prospective adoptive parents in 1997. Shortly afterwards we were placed with two young children.
It is now my opportunity to put something back into Scottish Adoption and it is by raising funds for Scottish Adoption by competing in the Edinburgh Marathon I plan to do this"
Please sponsor me online.
It's the most efficient way for me to raise funds for my charity. If you are a UK taxpayer your donation will be increased by almost a third at no cost to you.
Both myself and my Scottish Adoption really appreciate your donation. Any amount will make a difference but please try to give generously!
Many thanks. Derek
