Story
In March 2010 I was absent from work for a week with a bad chest infection. When I returned to work I was feeling unusually tired and my wife, Liz advised that I visit the Doctor. I ignored her advice for a month or so, however Liz then arranged an appointment with the Doctor. He checked me thoroughly but could not find anything wrong, however he arranged for me to have a blood test. I had my blood test and within a few hours I received a telephone call from my Doctor explaining that I had been diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. He immediately arranged an appointment for me with Dr Grace, a consultant at the Pevensey Ward in the Eastbourne District General Hospital. Dr Grace explained that as the Leukemia was diagnosed early he recommended I take an American drug which had a 95% successful rate. I agreed, taking this drug every day and also visited his clinic every three months for further blood tests.
Last June I received the fantastic news that I was in full remission! I am still taking the drug and attending the hospital every three months for a blood test so that Dr Grace can check my blood levels. I am still in remission, praise the Lord!!
I am so grateful for the care and attention Dr Grace and the hospital staff at the Pevensey Ward have given me over the past three years.
