Update - Thank you to everyone who sponsored me I am really pleased to have reached and exceeded my target. I am delighted to say that I achieved a new personal best marathon time of 3.29.05 and thank you to everyone who cheered me on yesterday, it was a great and memorable day.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I am running the Virgin London Marathon and would like to raise some much needed funds for the Sarcoma Trust, in memory of my sister-in-law, Janet, who passed away last March. Sarcomas are cancers of connective tissue - bone, muscle, nerves, fatty tissue, cartilage etc. They are rare, accounting for about 1% of all cancer diagnoses, or around 3200 cases altogether in the UK each year.
Janet was always full of life and ran in the fun run at our Orpington 10K each year and last ran in 2008 whilst still undergoing a course of radiotherapy! She certainly put up a brave fight against this cruel disease. She is sorely missed by us all and I will miss her cheering me on with other members of my family whilst running the marathon this year but I know that she will be with me again helping me on my way in those final miles.
