Santa Skydive · 29 November 2014 ·

Each year Friends of the Cancer Centre funds life saving and life changing projects which make a real and positive difference to thousands of cancer patients and their families. The charity relies on donations from the public to be able to support these patients locally and across Northern Ireland.

Story

Funny story....agreed to help raise money for Team 338 before finding out it was a skydive at the end of this month.....cheers Rosco. A sense of excitement is slowly but surely turning to terror. We’ve nearly all had family or friends affected by Cancer so I couldn’t really say no to helping out. The event will be a bit of a laugh, but the main aim is to raise some funds for Friends of the Cancer Centre /Team 338 cancer charity.

Team 338 supports various cancer charities in memory of Callan McErlain. Callan was only 16 when he was diagnosed with a rare form of bone and soft tissue cancer, Ewing Sarcoma. This rare form of the disease is found most commonly in males between the ages of 15 to 20 years old. With only a handful of children in the UK developing Ewing’s sarcoma each year there is little known about this particular form and currently no cure. Sadly Callan passed away on the 17th of June 2013, just 7 weeks after being diagnosed, despite the strong fight he put up.

Now Team 338 will pick up Callan’s fight in hope of one day finding a cure.

If you could give even a couple of quid it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Dermott
