CEN aims to support, advise, represent and reintegrate pupils excluded from school back into full-time, mainstream education. We aim support and encourage parents/guardians to play an empowered role for the successful education and progress of their children.

Story

CEN was set up by my father Gerry German in 1999. He spent his adult life as a teacher and headmaster in Jamaica, Wales and Nigeria before taking on working with parents to ensure that their children who are vulnerable to permanent exclusion from school are adequately supported to remain in mainstream education.  CEN provides parents with advice, support and representation at appeal and hearings through its small team of advocates and a network of volunteer advocates.

Once excluded from school most children don't return to the mainstream. It is no coincidence that some 70% of young people in the criminal justice system were excluded from school.
