Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
As many of you know, this year has given me the opportunity to refocus my energies and look for new challenges which would make a difference not just for me, but for others. Attempting to reach the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro has been a personal ambition for the past couple of years and, back in March, 2007seemed like the year to do it!
Happily I have been supported in this by all my family and those younger and fitter than me have rallied to the cause by joining me on this adventure. So this is now a challenge for 'Dexter and Sons', who would be really grateful if you would sponsor our climb in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now and look forward to a post Kili party later in the year! On our return we will send all donors an invitation to this bash, whatever our achievement! Richard will also post progress reports on this site as best he can, depending on communications from us. We are told the mobile signal at the summit is excellent!
Many thanks in anticipation of your support.

Update Sep 12th: We did it! All 3 of us reached Gillmans Point at 6:30am to see the sunrise and together went on to reach the summit at 8:40am on Thursday 6th September. It was a tremendous effort in different ways for each of us but well worth the final achievement. Watch this space for a photo of us at the top. Thanks to everyone who has sponsored us so far and if you havn't yet its still not too late.
Details of celebration will follow shortly.
