Story

The Dermot Gogarty Memorial Trust warmly invites you to a 10 year memorial carol concert and drinks reception.  It will take place on Saturday 21st November at 7pm at the beautiful Farm St Church in central London. The renowned South African opera singer, Njabulo Madlala, award winning soprano, Iuno Connolly and the choir of St John’s Beaumont will perform a mixture of  African and traditional carols.

All of the proceeds raised will go to Breadline Africa.  There is no set ticket price, but any voluntary contributions via this justgiving site will be gratefully received.

Dermot Gogarty was passionate about education, South Africa and social justice so it is fitting that his memorial fund should support Breadline Africa which  is an internationally registered South African-based charity that aims to break the cycle of poverty by helping communities to help themselves, with a focus on children and education.

Its highly successful Container Programme converts old shipping containers into vital community structures. The portable, versatile and secure recycled containers are a lifeline to many struggling communities, where they provide instant and vital infrastructure. Since 1993 more than 240 of these containers have been recycled refurbished and placed in some of the poorest communities throughout Southern Africa.
