We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

** Update**

We did it! 750 miles and a shedload of climbing! At last glance, we've raised over £18,000 for Cancer research. I may have reached my target but donations are still more than welcome. If you want to help someone else from the team reach their target, you can pick someone from this page: https://www.justgiving.com/teams/SageCSR2013SageDayCycle

I'm pleased to say that the whole team completed the challenge!

------------------------

Last year I cycled 130 miles from Workington on the west coast of england to Tynemouth on the east in a day for Cancer Research. At the time it was the hardest thing I had ever done and I was amazed I was able to complete the challenge.

Later that year, I completed the three-peaks challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in under 24 hours. This was even harder but it was for a great cause. Together our group of 5 raised £1450 for Macmillan.

This year I want to push myself even harder. I'll be cycling 715 miles from Purley in London to Alpe d'Huez in the French Alps over 7 days, ending with a gruelling 8-mile ride to the top - a 3000 foot climb.

I won't be doing this alone. The company I work for, Sage, have organised this and other wonderful events to raise money for their annual charity Cancer Research UK. Last year we raised over £25000.

It's going to take a lot of training and a lot of willpower to get fit enough for me to get to this mountain and defeat it. Your donations are greatly appreciated, even if it's as little as £1 it still helps.
