This Summer, Stacey Howard, Kate Weatherbed and Emma Briggs are conquering their fears and flinging themselves out of a plane! All to raise awareness of knife crime in the UK.

The DHU team based in the NHS 111 service are bravely taking on the Skydive in September and need your help to raise money for KnifeCrime.org, a charity which does some incredible preventative work in the UK

Kate Weatherbed said: “The cause is very close to my heart for various reasons, but all in all, it’s a very worthy cause due to there being somebody somewhere who knows, or who has had direct dealings with knife crime.

Knife crime.org attend schools, colleges, communities across the country to educate  younger people, on various different weapon related crimes, which is unfortunately now on the increase in all communities throughout the UK. They also help to fund families dealing with the grief of losing a friend/relative to knife crime.  

We decided to do a sky dive, due to the fact that we thought we had to do something a little daring to encourage more sponsors (we are all a little terrified, if not slightly crazy) but felt that it is most certainly justified to aim towards our end goal (which also hopefully will include us all landing feet/bottom first on the ground).”  

Who are KnifeCrimes.org?

KnifeCrimes.Org is an Online Knife, Gun & Gang related information Resource...Violence Reduction, fewer Victims by Changing Attitudes. 

This is a National Registered Charity...providing peer support to families and friends affected by Serious Violent Crime or Bereaved as a result of Homicide. Involved in training, education, research and raising public awareness to achieve better rights for victims.
