Diana Camidge sadly died in September 2016, aged 46, from an extremely rare prion disease Gerstmann–Sträussler–Scheinker (similar to CJD) for which there is currently no cure.

This hereditary disease also took the lives of her grandmother, mother and two uncles.

Her family and friends have set up The Diana Camidge Foundation in her memory with the prime objective of raising funds for the The Cure CJD Campaign which supports the National Prion Unit (NPU)

There is real hope for the future - the NPU have created a drug which could potentially treat this illness.

The unit administered PRN100 (an antibody, for treating CJD) to six patients for the first time. The results were extremely encouraging! We need to raise more funds to help fund a second trial.

Once CJD is cured, GSS is cured!

The pioneering treatment would not have been possible without the Foundation’s contribution and ongoing support.

It is sadly too late for Diana. However the team would very much appreciate your donations so other people with this illness can be saved.
