The Sievewright family sadly said goodbye to Diana Sievewright on 25th December 2020. Diana  had been battling poor health for quite some time and eventually this took its toll. However, she passed peacefully in hospital in Leicester with her sons by her side.

Diana only lived in the village for 4 years having moved from Edinburgh to Kibworth to be nearer her son, Danny. In a short time Diana made many friends in the village and was a frequent visitor to The Well where she was known for being partial to the Beetroot Soup and Flapjack. She was also an active member of the Kibworth & Smeeton U3A regularly attending Spanish lessons in the village. 

Although she spent much of her life in Edinburgh, Diana was not a stranger to the area having studied to be a social worker at Leicester University in the 1970s. 

Those of you that were fortunate enough to meet her will know that she had an amazing ability to hold an audience and loved to tell a story. She also had an incredible sense of humour. She could always captivate a room. In Edinburgh she worked as a social worker for over 15 years as well as a business director, counsellor and charity fundraiser. Her capacity for kindness, support, making others laugh and reassurance are qualities she will be most remembered for by so many. 

Her family felt it only fitting that given her involvement in social and charity  work, her fondness of the village and the help the community gave her during her time in Kibworth especially during lockdown, that we would like to give something back.
