The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for having a look at my fundraising page, it must mean that you are thinking of sponsoring me.

So let me begin by telling you how important "Guide Dogs for the Blind" are to me. I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa seven years ago, since then I have been registered blind and my sight is slowly disapearing, however, thankfully, I became involved in guide dogs about 3 years ago and then they began white cane training with me and slowly but surely building my confidence again on routes.

2 years ago I decided it was time I applied for a guide dog and I was matched with a beautiful guide dog called Becca a few months later. Becca has transformed my life and I have been given my independance back.

By running the Blackpool half marathon with my good friend and guide runner Jo Shannon I hope to raise money for Guide Dogs so that people that are blind or partially sighted are given the opportunity that I have been given.

So wish me and Jo luck and I will keep you all updated on our progress.

Guide Dogs are run entirely on voluntary contributions!! so please, please dig deep for a worthy cause
