I have a small part in the film Shawshank Redemption.  I'm taking part as the fundraising will go directly to improve patients and their families experience of care....

Many Families spend long days and many hours in our hospital when their family member is seriously ill or dying.

We are trying to improve families experience of care by having a family room on every hospital ward.

Our family rooms are warm welcoming rooms with free tea & coffee making facilities, comfortable seating including a sleepover sofa to allow a family member stay overnight. The rooms are private, quiet places where patients and their families can meet in comfort and privacy away from the busy ward.

Funds from the Oskars will go to development of more family rooms in the Mater Hospital and also to refurbishing rooms in the Hostel building for relatives comfort.
