Didsbury Runners Virtual Relay Β· 2 May 2020

We support young people and adults with mental health issues in Manchester. We're an independent, self-financed charity offering services to those most in need. We promote positive attitudes to mental health to challenge stigma, increase awareness and work for better mental health for all.

Story

Didsbury Runners have been doing various things to stay connected during this time, and on Saturday 2nd May we'll be doing a 12 hour virtual relay. The aim is for the team to be running for 12 hours continuously, with each person in the team running for 30 minutes. Appropriate social distancing measures will be taken of course, with everyone doing their 30 minute leg on their own and close to home.

We know that charities have suffered as a result of the crisis, with so many running events being cancelled that normally raise money for them, so we decided to raise a bit of money for Manchester Mind.

Manchester Mind is an independent, local charity, which supports over 6,500 children, young people and adults each year. We share their belief that everyone deserves to be supported with their mental health needs and so we wanted to help in this way.

We're aware that some people are under more financial pressure than others during this time so there's absolutely no pressure to donate, but if anyone would like to, it would be much appreciated.
