Everyone directly, or indirectly, has experience in the hardship of parenting. The difficult balance of providing a new child with everything you have to give and in the meantime trying to look after yourself. Sadly, most communities fundamentally lack supportive parenting groups which is why fundraising for Mummyshock is so important during this time of change. Mummyshock has been a saving grace for both of us and our families. The course is written by professional counsellors, and helps new mums navigate the emotional transition to becoming a mum. Meeting weekly, they provide psycho-education, discussions around the changes women feel from body image to wellbeing and to normalise feelings.

Release Counselling and Therapy for Women CIO does more than Mummyshock, it's a charity working to improve the mental health of women, reduce isolation and empower women to bring change to their lives.
