Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In a nutshell; I have early-onset Parkinson's; I didn't expect to get it, but it's an unlucky roll of the genetic dice and it's not going to go away. I'm lucky because my symptoms are generally under control, at least for the time being. Handfuls of pills help a lot, as does lots of exercise.

Others aren't so lucky. Some have severe tremors which prevent them doing simple tasks. Some can't walk, talk or sleep properly. Lots of these patients are elderly, but 5% are diagnosed under the age of 50. Over time the condition gets worse, but how fast and how far things deteriorate varies between individuals.

Parkinson's uk provides medical, practical and emotional support for patients and their families. They are also researching new treatments and possible cures.

It all costs a great deal of money to continue their work. If you'd like to donate, your money will be hugely appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
