Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

With more than 120 different types of tumour, brain tumours are notoriously difficult to diagnose. Research is woefully under-funded and treatments lag seriously behind other cancers.  To sustain the long-term peer-reviewed research at the Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence in the University of Portsmouth £2,740 per day is needed. We hope this Cave Party will fund at least a day of research and for those that are unable to come to the event, this page has been set up for donations.

My husband Ben was diagnosed with a tumour in March 2010, and underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy, during a short period of remission we got engaged, and had a fabulous wedding. On return from our honeymoon the tumours had reappeared. We were married for 15 months before he lost his battle.

Any donation would be welcome to try to stop this awful situation happening to others.
