Over the past few years my family have endured some hard times with heart disease. My dad had a stent fitted and one of my brother's suffered from a severe heart attack at the age of 34. Luckily he has recovered well and this is largely due to all of the research that has gone into curing heart disease. 

I have never been a natural runner and am running my first marathon so that I can contribute to this ground breaking research and limit the impact this terrible disease has on families.
