𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙫𝙞𝙖.

People think Olympus Mons on Mars is the highest mountain, it is not really true. The highest peak in the Solar System is 𝗥𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘀 at 22.5 km (14.0 mi), nearly 3 times the highest of Everest!

Its 529km (329 miles) diameter makes up 89% of ‘4 Vesta’, the second-largest asteroid in the solar system that orbits our Sun.

It is named after Rhea Silvia, a mythological mother of the founders of Rome and is believed to be an impact crater that excavated 1% of its volume & is one of the largest in the solar system.

Rheasilvia’s formation dates back to over 1 billion years ago & would also be the origin of the HED meteorites.

I plan on 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴 it’s height over a 1 meter double-sided 5 steps high mound in the front garden wearing & carrying 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗿, as unfortunately, I don’t have a 🧑🏼‍🚀 spacesuit to hand. I envision this will take 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟴 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 of near-constant climbing up & down.

This challenge I will undertake will hopefully raise money for PPE & other required equipment for NHS workers through the Covid-19 Urgent Appeal that I have chosen due to the times we all find ourselves in right now globally. While this is the primary focus of my challenge, it should be mentioned that there are many other front line workers out there doing an outstanding job; supermarket staff, delivery workers, MoD, Police, Firefighters to name a few.
