The Distillers' Longest Day · 3 July 2021

Our vision is to make a difference to young people, including those within the distilled spirits trade, helping them to reach their full potential, improve their life chances, and make a positive contribution to their communities. We will achieve this in the following ways: i. Vocational Training Fund: to provide educational and development support to new and recent entrants to the UK spirits trade, encourage high standards of distilling practice and service. ii. Youth Action Fund: to support young people, especially from disadvantaged backgrounds, ta.o develop their character and life skills to reach their potential and make a positive contribution to their communities. iii. Other Causes: to fulfill our wider civic duties as a Livery, supporting the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, the Master’s charity and other relevant charitable commitments.

Story

This year’s Master of The Worshipful Company of Distillers, Jonathan Driver, along with Grant Gordon, David Wilson, Alan Montague Dennis, Scott Allen, James Higgins and I have committed to ride 134 miles in one day in Scotland close to THE LONGEST DAY.

The Group undertaking this challenge are many of those who were involved in the Distillers’ 500 ride to London last year.

We will be riding 134 miles around Perthshire in one day raising money for The Distillers’ Charity but with the funds raised being allocated 50:50 between Girlguiding in Perthshire (to support the re-building of one  their halls) and Future Youth Zone in Dagenham a charity that we have supported for several years, including last year as a beneficiary of The Distillers' 500.

This is no easy feat and even for experienced cyclists will represent a huge physical challenge making for a very long time in the saddle hence - THE LONGEST DAY.

Jonathan, Grant, David, Alan, Scott, James and I would be thrilled if you were able to support us in raising money for these worthy causes.

Many thanks in advance!

Jonathan, Grant, David, Alan, Scott, James and Kenny
