Since 2004 the Law Society has been running an initiative aimed at boosting social mobility and making the legal profession more accessible to those from diverse backgrounds.
The Law Society Diversity Access Scheme supports talented and committed individuals who face exceptional social, educational, financial or personal obstacles to qualify as a solicitor through the provision of full scholarships for the Legal Practice Course, as well as mentoring by practising solicitors and work experience placements.
Previous alumni have, for example experienced time in local authority care, homelessnes, resisted coercion into arranged marriage and battled for access to university and work experience with severe physical disabilities. Whatever their obstacles all have shown tenacity and commitement in the pursuit of their career.
Each year we are overwhelmed by the volume of applications from deserving candidates and your donation will ensure that as many as possible can be helped.
Please help to give more people the opportunity to succeed in fulfilling their ambition.
