Story
Employees of Scott and Company Historic Building Conservation will cycle the entire length of Cornwall and back, in a bid to raise funds for the Cornwall Historic Churches Trust. The ride will take place over two days from 17th-18th September, with a route planned to pass by 100 churches and chapels along the way.
Joe Davidson and Jon Ramage, who are Building Surveyors at the Truro based firm, will ride in excess of 200 miles. The ride will start at St Morwenna Parish Church, Morwenstow in North Cornwall and follow a route along the north coast all the way to St Just in Penwith Parish Church, near to lands end. Then as if that is not enough, on day two the pair will cover a similar distance again along the south coast to Kingsand, near Plymouth.
Joe Davidson, who grew up on the Roseland Peninsula says "I am a keen cyclist but have never done anything like this distance before" adding "The highlight for me will be passing through the all the church parish's, hopefully there will be a chance to have a bite to eat".
The route will take in churches and chapels along the way
including Padstow, Newquay, St Agnes and St Ives on day one. Then on day two
the route will include Penzance, Helston, Falmouth, St Mawes and St Austell.
