In 2009 my wife Emily was diagnosed with Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1, a form of Muscular Dystrophy. Shortly after the diagnosis, our son was born with the condition which nearly claimed his life. Our lives will forever be affected by this degenerative disease but we do not allow it to define us. I am inspired by my wife and son's resolve and commitment to live a rich and fulfilling life.

By competing in the Ironman World Championships in Kona and hoping to contend for a podium spot, I aim to raise awareness of MD.  It is my wish that your donations will fund valuable research and support to benefit all those that are affected by this condition.
