1 mile a day for 1 year · 21 August 2019

Hull & East Yorkshire Mind aims to support people with mental health problems, their families and carers through the provision of services and the promotion of good practices in mental health. We are an independent local organisation, relying on donations and funding to continue delivering support.

Story

Mental illness affects 1 in 4 people in England. Mind are there to help! They rely on local people to provide support to raise money to carry out their work.

The aim is to run 1 mile a day, everyday for 365 days to support Mind. (Excluding any miles achieved through existing hobbies).

All miles are to be done outside whatever the weather and location. No treadmills are allowed and no stacking of miles to have a day off.

The thought process is that this challenge is a metaphor to represent all those who suffer with mental health issues such as anxiety or depression. It is showing that even when motivation is low and it all gets too much, you can ignore those negative thoughts and still achieve your goals.

1 run per day, everyday, for 365 days.

For all those who want to get involved. I have set up a strava club for everyone to upload their daily runs. The more people participating the better! Join us at
