Parkinson's Disease Research
Campaign by University of Sheffield (RCN HMRC Registered)
Researchers at the University of Sheffield are leading the way in developing personalised treatments for Parkinson's Disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in support of Parkinson's Disease research at The University of Sheffield.

This is particularly pertinent for me as my Grandma had Parkinson's before she died a few years back, and I think it is great the University is raising money for research.

There is no cure for Parkinson's and no way to stop the disease from getting any worse. Affecting 145,000 people alone in 2020, new treatments are needed to stop Parkinson's disease in its tracks.

Together with your support, we can make a real difference. Our research will result in a huge leap forward for personalised treatments for Parkinson's:

  •  Finding personalised treatments for patients to slow or even stop how quickly the disease takes hold
  • Speeding up the development of new treatments
  • Improving the effectiveness and outcomes of clinical trials
Your donations will support this important work, helping our researchers to lead the way in developing new treatments for Parkinson's Disease.

I have recently ran a couple of 10k's, but I have never ran a half marathon before and have always dismissed the idea as being to far a distance! I am quite excited and nervous about the challenge and how to go about things if I hit 'the wall' part way through! Any donations for a cause that means a lot to me will be much appreciated.
