Story
Please help us refurbish our low risk midwifery rooms at Darlington Memorial Hospital. We want to help to enhance the birthing experience for women and their families at such a special time.
Our wish list is to fund two starry sky ceilings and a mood tube, all of which will help to deliver a unique sensory experience.
We would also like to purchase comfortable chairs for birthing partners, new flooring, floor mats and blackout blinds, to create a home from home environment.
To enable us to do this, our midwifery team are challenged to complete a mini triathlon. First a team of Midwives, Maternity Care Assistants and Obstetricians are completing a 11 mile coastal walk on the 25th July.
Then Rachel Wheeler (Community Midwife), Carol Halbert (Postnatal Ward Midwife) and Patrycja Bayley (Labour Ward Midwife) are completing a 100 mile cycle across the North Yorkshire Moors on the 8th August.
Finally, Beverley Corner, (Darlington Community Midwives Manager) will be completing the Great North Run Solo Challenge, 40 runs in 78 days, starting on the 28th June until the 14th September. Beverley is hoping to complete a staggering 300miles.
Please donate what you can, every pound will help make a difference, if you can’t donate, then please simply share our page on your social networks and encourage others to support if they can!
Thank you
Darlington Maternity Team
