ING New York City Marathon 2010 · 7 November 2010 ·

It provides advice, information and suppot to Migrant Domestic Workers in the UK, whilst also campaigning with the workers to protect their rights. Migrant domestic workers are typically housekeepers and nannies who can be vulnerable to forced labour and exploitation due to their multiple dependencies on their employers.

Story

I am running the NYC Marathon, November 7th 2010 - if and when I get round in under 3 hours on the day you might want to double your initial pledge to the charity I volunteered with, "Kalayaan" (that's me and my English students in the cheesy picture).  Kalayaan helps Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) who are used and abused (it's a form of slavery).

Now given that my Personal Best (PB) in the Edinburgh Marathon 2008 was 3hrs 56 minutes (on the nose) I would have to shave an hour off my PB - a BIG ASK!  Unlikely to have to double your pledge so please give generously to a very worthwhile cause - shocking to think that slavery is still rife in London and throughout England.  Kalayaan is superb.
