Story
Not for the first time in my life, I've gone and lost my marbles.
It felt like a good idea at the time - I fly gliders and have to wear a parachute for safety reasons but I've never had to use one. I thought it would be a good experience to know what it actually feels like to be suspended from a few strings and a bit of silk.
The opportunity has arisen for two people to skydive in support of the road safety charity BRAKE so I've coerced my sister Sallie and together, we will each throw ourselves out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft at 14,000ft and tandem skydive back to Earth.
Setting off from Langar airfield near Nottingham at 10:00am on Sunday 17th September (weather permitting), it will take around 15 minutes to get up there - and only 6 minutes to get back down!
It sounded like fun a few days ago...now I'm beginning to have my doubts ;-)
Your kind sponsorship, however large or small, would be very much appreciated.
If you would rather sponsor my sister Sallie, you can do so here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ssbrakeskydive
Thank you :-)
