Update: we made it! With 25 minutes to spare to stay under the 24 hour mark. Mostly great, sometimes awful... and we got there.
On Wednesday 1st June my girlfriend Becky and I are cycling to Paris - in 24 hours. 104km via Marble Arch to Newhaven; a nap on the ferry; then 182km from Dieppe into Paris to finish at the Arc de Triomphe.
I am raising money for Bowel Research UK - previously know as Bowel & Cancer Research. They are a small but effective charity, providing research grants across various areas of bowel cancer and bowel disease.
Seventeen years ago my Dad died of bowel cancer. It was quick, and he didn't have much of a chance to fight it.
We are doing this unsupported, carrying our own luggage, snacks and water with no support crew, and only the dream of a Paris hotel (and 1300km of training) to help us.
The first leg should take us just under 5 hours, four hours kip on the ferry, and then about 9 hours to conquer Paris - a minimum of 14 hours cycling time, and as many baguettes as I can carry.
Bowel Research UK’s vision is that no one should die of bowel cancer, have to live with chronic bowel disease or face life with a permanent stoma.

I'd really appreciate your sponsorship to help make this all worthwhile.
(And of course, they accept CAF donations - charity number 1186061)
