Story
1 in 8 children today have a diagnosable mental health problem.
50% of people with lifetime mental health problems first experience symptoms by the age 14.
Rates of depression and anxiety among teenagers have increased by 70% in the past 25 years, not to mention increase in suicide rates of those under 18.
This is why Place2Be's work in schools throughout the UK is so important. This year has been particularly difficult for a lot of people, especially our children whose world as they knew it has been turned upside down. Support needs to be available to our children and early intervention is key.
On the 24th October (waiting for JustGiving to advise on changing the event date from September) we will be walking from Bolton all the way to Blackpool. We are so grateful for any support you're able to give - together we can make a real difference to children's mental health and have a positive impact on their future.
