Welsh 3 Peaks · 29 May 2010

We support projects and organisations which divert young people aged 10-25 from criminal and anti-social behaviour and substance misuse.

Story

At 0100 hours on Sunday 30 May 2010 a team of tired but elated partners and staff from Dolmans and B4 Legal descended Pen-y-Fan in the Brecon Beacons successfully completing the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge in a time of 16 hours 18 minutes and 59 seconds in order to raise money on behalf of the South Wales Police Youth Trust.

The day began at 0800 hours on 29 May 2010 at the foot of (1085 metres) and, from there, proceeded to Cadair Idris (893 metres) before concluding on Pen-y-Fan (886 metres). A later start time than originally planned was necessary as a result of a poor weather forecast, with the situation predicted to improve by lunch time; however that proved to be incorrect with already difficult conditions on Snowdon deteriorating further on Cadair Idris, with visibility falling to 10 metres due to rain and hill fog, similar conditions were experienced on Pen-y-Fan, together with the added factor of darkness.

The Dolmans Team and the staff and partners of Dolmans would like to thank all of the individuals and organisations who have generously supported the event with sponsorship and allowed us to raise a significant sum of money for a very worthwhile local charity. The extent of the generosity shown by you all provided a very significant incentive to complete the challenge, despite the conditions on the day.  However, if you are yet to donate to this cause, all further contributions will be very much appreciated and can still be given via this Just Giving page.

With many thanks

The Team

Am 1.00 o’r gloch bore dydd Sul y 30ain o Fai 2010 fe wnaeth tîm Dolmans Ras y Tri Chopa gyrraedd gwaelod Pen-y-Fan ym Mannau Brycheiniog. Roedd hyn yn golygu bod y tîm wedi cwblhau Ras y Tri Chopa mewn amser o 16 awr 18 munud a 59 eiliad er mwyn codi arian ar gyfer Ymddiriedolaeth Ieuenctid Heddlu De Cymru.

Dechreuodd y diwrnod am 8.00 o’r gloch ar fore y 29ain o Fai 2010 ar waelod Yr Wyddfa (1085 metr) cyn symud ymlaen i Cadair Idris (893 metr) a gorffen y daith ar Ben-y-Fan (886 metr). Penderfynwyd dechrau’r daith yn hwyrach na’r disgwyl oherwydd rhagolygon tywydd anffafriol. Roedd yr amgylchiadau yn anodd ar yr Wyddfa ac fe waethygon nhw ar Gadair Idris lle nad oedd yn bosib gweld ymhellach na 10 metr oherwydd glaw a niwl mynydd. Roedd yr amgylchiadau’n debyg ar Ben-y-Fan ond roedd hefyd yn dywyll erbyn hyn.

Mae Tîm Dolmans, ynghyd a staff a phartneriaid Dolmans, eisiau diolch i bawb sydd wedi cefnogi’r fenter trwy gyfrannu’n hael; mae hyn wedi ein galluogi ni i godi swm sylweddol o arian ar gyfer elusen lleol haeddiannol. Roedd eich nawdd yn ysgogiad i ni gwblhau’r sialens er gwaetha’r tywydd gwael ar y diwrnod. Os nad ydych wedi cyfrannu hyd yn hyn mae dal yn bosib gwneud hynny drwy ymweld a’r tudalen “Just Giving”.

Diolch yn fawr iawn am eich cefnogaeth.
