Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you know, in September 2015 the beautiful Sophie Edwards received the devastating news that her Melanoma had returned in the form of a brain tumour.  This started her gruelling battle with many ups and downs along the way before she finally found peace in November 2016.

Soph was such an incredibly fun loving, caring and loyal person who was hard not to love.  Even in the worst of times her love of life was so infectious.  She was so determined and driven and still managed to make us smile and laugh.

The idea for this race was originally a challenge to coincide with Soph's very own challenge in learning how to walk again; a way we could motivate each other along the way.  Unfortunately Soph never got the opportunity to finish her challenge so this one is for her.

Many people are unaware that brain tumours are the main cause of cancer deaths of people under the age of 40.  With only a 20% survival rate past 5 years of diagnosis.  Something The Brain Tumour Charity are at the forefront of trying to change while also providing support for people with brain tumours.

Any donations would be massively appreciated by all her friends, family and the Brain Tumour Charity.

If you do anything today, please take a couple minutes to check out their website, learn something you didn’t know and see the amazing work they are doing to fight them.
