British Heart Foundation London to Southend bike ride · 19 July 2009

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Hi all

On Sunday 19 July 2009, I completed the 59 mile London - Southend bike ride for the British Heart Foundation who do fabulous work in researching, preventing and treating heart disease in the UK.

It had threatened to rain all week but luckily the weather was largely fine apart from the strong headwind that made the last 10 miles a bit more challenging!  The route took us from Victoria Park in East London through Chigwell and then a succession of villages like Mountnessing, Stock, Hanningfield, Battlesbridge, Great Stambridge and finally to Priory Park in Southend!  There were a few more hills than expected but I finished the ride in 3 hours 40 minutes.  I did walk up all the stairs to my work office as promised this morning and I am now sitting here without any remaining energy!

Thanks to all of you who have sponsored me.  If you would like to sponsor me and haven't done so it's not too late  - please fill in the form and don't forget to tick the gift aid box to allow the BHF to get tax relief on your donation!

Many thanks

Dominic
