We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

2 and a half years on from July 5th 2019...the date my world came crashing down.

3 weeks after giving birth to my second daughter, the pain and headaches were unbearable. After several doctor visits a trip to a&e was made. It was there I had a CT scan and was told I had a 4cm tumour in my brain.

The next few hours, days were all a bit of a blur but within the next week I had been moved to a different hospital, had a craniotomy and was home recovering!

The thought of leaving my family was not an option!

The strength you find at an all time low is remarkable. This is the strength I carry forward in my every day life now... through the mri scans, through the results apts.

I aim to make my life the best it can be - living life to the fullest as I don't know what my future holds.

This is my 3rd year of my month of March charity based challenges and each year makes me more determined to do more, raise more awareness, raise more money!

This years is something else I am going to attempt to complete at least 2 olympic triathlons across the month.💪🤞

It works out to be 3km swimming, 80km of biking and 20km of running!! Bring it on!! 😃💪

My tumour may return as it wasn't benign and its a constant worry that plays on my mind with each scan and results appointment but it will be caught before it grows the extent it was and will be acted on and I live my life with this reassurance. I use exercise as my way forward to clear my body and mind of any stresses, anxiety or worries. I have learnt to love the stronger person I have become ad a result of all of this.

Did you know that brain tumours kill more adults and children than ANY other cancers!

Brain tumour patients are also worse off financially! They lose the ability to drive which takes away their freedom! The brain tumour charities receive the bare minimum of funding for research.
