Ian Pratt Swim the Solent challenge 2015 · 27 July 2015

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

On July 27th 2015 my dad and I are swimming the Solent for MND.

MND is an incurable, terminal condition that affects the muscles of the body over a period of time. It can make most things we do everyday and take for granted almost impossible. It can affect the ability to move, walk, talk and swallow, yet the mind and senses are rarely affected, eventually taken the life of  the person effected.

You only have to read about this disease to know why me and dad are wanting to take part in this challenge. Me and dad have both passed our fitness assessments of 200 lengths/3 miles pool swim. We continue our training jn the sea and pool swim to build our strength to help us swim across the strong, dangerous currents of our Solent.

So please if you can even spare £1 we would be so appreciative of your donation. Please share and help spread the word for MND 💙🏊
