Campaign by Bowel Cancer UK (RCN 1071038)
Grow a beard throughout December and help us stop people dying of bowel cancer.

Story

I'm taking part in Decembeard 2020 to support Bowel Cancer UK. My best mate Richard Bingham sadly lost his lengthly fight with bowel cancer in August, and I miss him hugely. The charity aims to help people in Richard's position, and funds research and early diagnosis.

Decembeard involves growing a beard. Yes, yes, yes, I have a beard anyway. Well this means I shave it off and look like an egg for a bit. AND I've decided to spice things up a bit by USING the beard. I'm taking part in the Fan Dance race, which involves running up and down Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons. And then back up and down again. 24km in under 4 hours. With a 20kg rucksack. It's part of the SAS selection course, so is designed to be tough. So you see I NEED a beard. The event was supposed to be the 9th Jan, but has now been moved to 31st Jan. I propose to keep the beard for a second month to assist in completion of the event. Worth a few quid in sponsorship, I hope?
