Expand, a grassroots organisation, works directly with poor rural communities to build up their infrastructure through education and trainings. It helps facilitate in building schools, libraries, community centres, start sports and health projects, chosen in partnership with the local people.

Story

Expand is a charity based in Malawi and was created by our dear friend Tanya. Expand was set up to relieve poverty in some of the world's poorest countries by focusing on education and providing resources for the local people. The first project, Chisala school, is now completed and Expand has evolved to help and build new projects in Malawi. New projects include; a sports centre, IT centre, teachers houses, teacher training and improving Mzenga secondary school.

The kilomathon is March 20th and on March 24th we are flying out to Malawi so it would be amazing to be able to have raised funds for the project. We cycled London to Paris a few years back to raise funds to build Chisala school (then the Build Malawi project) so we are very excited to finally be going out there to see the school and get involved.
