Story

As the world watches, Burma's Rohingya Muslims are being annihilated and killed.

Thousands have been slaughtered in recent days. Mothers and their children have been burnt alive, while their menfolk have been tortured and killed.

More than one million Rohingya Muslims in Burma's Arakan state are in apartheid conditions. The countryside is awash with concentration camps, the grim result of a targeted pogrom which has seen countless civilians killed and their villages burnt to the ground.

Arguably worse is the plight of those trying to flee. Thousands of women and children, in their attempt to reach to Bangladesh, are forcibly stuck at the border with no help or support.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
'The blood of a Muslim is worth more than the Ka'aba and all of its surroundings.'
[Ibn Majah]

Ummah Welfare Trust has launched an emergency appeal on behalf of our forlorn brothers and sisters.

The charity has been administering relief in Burma for over 10 years, maintaining support to Rohingya families in Arakan since the outbreak of violence in 2012.

UK staff are now on the ground in Bangladesh undertaking assessments and providing aid to desperate families fleeing the oppression. Food and hygiene kits are meanwhile being distributed to families are still in Arakan.

Answer the cries of the Rohingyan mothers and their children, and donate what you can in support of this appeal.
