SafeNet Domestic Abuse Service has saved over 5,000 women and children since its refuge was opened in 1976. It runs the largest refuge in Lancashire; delivers community based services; supports phone helpline; enabling women to make informed choices, empowering them to live free from Domestic Abuse.

Story

Hi, my name is Owen, I am 9 years old and this is my friend Erin, she is 7. Every Christmas, me, my Mum, Erin and her Auntie Meg, try to do something nice for people and give to charity.

Last year, we bought presents for residents at a care home but Coronavirus has made buying presents a bit harder this year, so we have decided to donate money to Safenet women's refuge.

We're asking people to donate what they would normally spend on their dinner (or more if you can), so that the women and children Safenet help, can have a nice Christmas dinner and some lovely presents.

It would be amazing if we could raise £100, and if we do, me and my Mum will run 5k (This might not seem that much, but my Mum can't run at all! - She might end up walking it)

Thank you,

Owen, Alex, Erin and Meg
