Charity Pyjama Week · 16 October 2017

We are committed to improving the prospects of those stricken with hard to treat cancers particularly those with triple negative breast cancer. We aim to assist those with a terminal diagnosis and their families. Fund research into cancer treatments. Support education. Provide a counselling service.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Each year we hold a charity pyjama week, where our little swimmers (and their parents) raise money for our locally nominated charity. Babies and children 0-10 will be sponsored to complete a personal survival lesson plan in their pyjamas, which teaches them that

  • If accidents happen, often it's when fully clothed. We strongly believe it's our duty to ensure that our swimmers know what it feels like to be in water while wearing clothes.
  • Even just this short experience will help them realise that
even thought they feel heavier, they can still do those all-important reactions of kicking to the surface, turning and reaching for the side.
  • We do all of this whilst having fun and raising money for an amazing charity.

Our customers voted for Team Verrico to be our local charity and we are delighted to be supporting them.

Team Verrico support research in to new treatments and ways of diagnosing responses to treatment of cancer, especially Triple Negative breast cancer, as well as supporting research into the challenges faced by long term survivors of the disease.
