We breed and train guide dogs to give blind people freedom and mobility

Story

I’ve set this page up for my husband, as he wants to give something back to the guide dogs, after he received his guide dog in February 2017.

In 2012 my husband suffered a accident at work which almost cost him his life. The accident left him with a bleed on the brain, and every bone in his face was broken, and his right eye split in half so he was blind it that eye.

After 6 years of fighting to save the little sight in his left eye, the decision was taken to remove it which was a massive and brave decision to make.

Andrews life has been turned upside down, but after almost 2 years of being on the waiting list. Nevis came to us and his life changed, it was hard at first for him to get used to the responsibility of having a guide dog, but his independence was soon noticeable and he was keen to get out, and very quickly they made a lovely bond. Andrew would now like to help keep the money coming in to help guide dogs going  as it’s a charity so they need every penny. The money raised helps Train puppies up to becoming a working dog and give someone back independence. So please help Andrew give something back.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
