We have been training hard to undertake this challenge since Chrsitmas.....part of the reason is to have a focus and a goal to do something postive and worthwhile in the memory of two friends who have passed away under the age of 40 years old.

Douglas Macmillian provide a vital service to people who are at the end of their lives, anybody who has lost somebody close or watched someone suffer will understand the importance of making sure those lasts years/months are pain free, comfortable and supported.  Douglas Macmillian provide nursing care and home or at the hospice, therapy and friendship to local people.  

We have recently completed a 110 mile bike ride to Llangollen (also for this charity) in preparation for our challenge and also to show more support for the Dougie Mac. We have also been taking part in lots of fundraising including bag packing and setting up our turbo trainer at the from of supermarkets to raise funds.

£10-is the cost of an hours in-patient care

£20-is the cost of a patients therapy session

£50-is the cost of a day art therapy

£200-is the cost of a day of expert nursing care

£1,000-is the cost of a syrine driver to provide quick, easy and effective pain relief in people's homes

£2,500-is the cost of a community nurse for 2 weeks to help patients spend their last few days or weeks at home

£5,000-is the cost of a community kit, containing all the items the nurses need to care at home.
