Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC is a free bereavement camp for children ages 6-17 who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives.

Story

For 21 years, the Wendt Center's Camp Forget-Me-Not has offered grieving children (ages 6-17) an opportunity to enter a safe space away from their everyday lives to gently explore the normal yet overwhelming process of grief.

For this Summer of 2022, we will not be able to offer the weekend sleep-away camp, but we are excited to be able to offer three in-person day camps for children followed by several virtual camp workshops for children and their families in the Fall.

We expect to help 200+ grieving children and their families with the 2022 in-person and virtual Camp Forget-Me-Not experiences.

As always, Camp Forget-Me-Not will help children and their families begin to recover and heal from deaths of loved ones and the isolation, absence of grief rituals, and in-person support that began with the pandemic in 2020 and continues for many in our community. All of our participants will have opportunities to share memories and explore grief in a safe setting where self-expression is heard, valued, and honored.

Thank you for your donations and continued support!
