Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 25th January 2014, to celebrate my 40th Birthday, I shall be jumping from a plane at Langar Airfield.
The purpose of this jump is to raise money for a charity which has given me valuable support in the past, namely The Miscarriage Association.
Although I have 3 wonderful Children, getting them was not easy. I have suffered 5 miscarriages and 2 life threatening ectopic pregnancies which required emergency surgery. Apart from losing my left tube and then my left ovary at times I also lost all hope of being able to go full term with a pregnancy. These were very emotional and stressful times, with each pregnancy being a time of constant worry.
It was with the support and advice of the Miscarriage Association that I met the wonderful team at the early pregnancy assessment centre at City Hospital Nottingham. This was when things started to change and although the worry never went away I successfully gave birth to Zak and Jude within 20 months of each other. After assuming all was good further disappointment and sadness came along before Isla made her way into the world.
Today much of of this seems like a distant memory but at the time it was extremely difficult and upsetting. Many women in the UK suffer in this way with 1 in 4 pregnancies ending in miscarriage and 1 in 100 being ectopic.
Although Richard thinks the jump is a pretty cool present he really thinks the gift of raising money for The Miscarriage Association on my 40th birthday will be far more special and memorable.
Richard is paying for the jump so 100% of any donations will go to support the work of the Miscarriage Association. Any donation big or small will make a difference but please leave a message so we can print the page to form a memory of the day and my 40th.
