Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 2 September 2014, I was going through a, what I believed, routing post-Thyroid operation when I was informed I had papillary thyroid cancerous cells, which came as a real shock to hear that C word. However, I was quickly reassured that the Cancer was treatable and that I’d require further Thyroid surgery removal and Radioactive treatment at the Beatson Cancer Centre.

The NHS and Beatson staff were tremendous in ensuring I was seen at the earliest opportunity so that I could focus on the upcoming birth of my son, who was born on 2 January 2015. Treatment went better than expected and now I only need to go to the Beatson once a year.

Looking to give something back, I have organised an Over 35’s Charity Football match with some friends between supporters, and a select batch of former players, of Aberdeen FC, the team I support, and Celtic FC. The match is being played at Falkirk Stadium on Sunday 9 September 2018 and we are encouraging spectators to come watch. For those unable to attend, I have set up this page for you to make an online donation to this wonderful charity to enable them to continue their fantastic work in finding cures to rid this horrible disease.

Thank you!
