I always promised I would never run a marathon..... I never had the desire to run one, I never believed I could. 

But then, following some incredible encouragement and a significant amount of peer pressure, I started to believe it may just be possible and the desire and training grew from there.

And just when the all-consuming training was planting seeds of doubt, Gavriel said to me, "Dad you can do it... you must do it. I would do it if I could, but I can't, so you need to do it for me". 

And so, on February 3rd 2023, I will have the privilege of taking part in my first ever marathon at The Dead Sea, in Israel. The training has been tough, long and utterly exhilarating. I am nervous, excited and determined to push myself over the finish line. And I will run, for all those who can't and with Gavriel at the forefront of my mind, every step of the way.

I am raising money for the Duchenne Research Fund and it is only through your generous help that we can continue to do whatever we can, not just for Gavriel, but for all those suffering with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
