Afro-Runner's page

Thanks for taking the time to visit my “Afro-Runner” page! :) I'm running the longest distance I have ever run to help send children in Africa to school.
Why? Education changed my life and I am inspired to help other children living in poverty to have a better future.
I am originally from Zimbabwe, a country with an estimated 1 million children orphaned by AIDS/HIV. Thousands of children have no parents, are neglected and displaced. Some live on the streets, orphanages or with extended family; mainly ailing grandparents.
I met many such children and was challenged to make a difference on a mission trip with the charity Creating Better Futures (CBF). CBF is a small charity founded by my friends and I to help educate and empower orphaned, vulnerable children. Your donation goes directly to sending them to school, providing food and medical care.
…..and the Afro? The Afro started off as a joke but has had so many “pats of approval”, that it’s worth a go. I am hoping that my passion for education, ever-growing afro and a colourful tutu will help speed me up a bit, especially during the last few miles.
The hair spray will match the tutu, so please donate & vote for your favourite colour from the CBF logo; Pink, Yellow, Purple, Blue or Green and I will wear the most popular one! Thank you :)
